A lovely relaxing day today as it was a sea day. We woke up early (the clock’s have gone back an hour again), had breakfast and had a wonder around on deck. We went to a few things during the morning – the lecture on Hong Kong, the vegetable carving demo & box making class. Lunch was ‘traditional english’ fish and chips (far nicer than we get at the local chippy) and afterwards Andy went to a get together of veterans. I think people were a little surprised to find out he was a veteran.
We had a totally relaxing afternoon of sleeping. Unfortunately I’ve come down with a bit of a cold which is a bit annoying. Norovirus has also reared it’s head onboard so there are major hygiene schemes going on. They seem to have caught it early so it will hopefully be contained. We had to have thermal screening as part of the immigration to Shanghai. It was very well organised – all we had to do was file past the official with his heat camera.
Andy slept through tea so I went down to the Savoy Grill Dining room and sat on a table with a couple from Halifax who we’ve seen several times before, a couple form Sydney who are doing the cruise through to Sydney & a travel agent from Korea who is guiding a group of people. He’s travelled around the whole world leading tours by the sounds of things.
An early night again today as tomorrow’s day in Shanghai will be a long one.
