Today we had a late start as we didn’t dock in Busan until late morning. Our tour took us to the Ja-Gal-Chi Fish market which was an amazing experience. It’s a huge market with rows and
rows of yellow baskets filled with live fish. There must have been thousands of baskets in both the old and new fish markets. The sellers were mainly women which is why it’s nicknamed the ‘Auntie’s market’. As it was a Sunday lots of Korean families were at the market having raw fish meals. Amazingly it didn’t smell much in there at all – it just seemed very clean.
We then drove up to the mountains to the Beomeosa Temple – a buddist temple high up above the city. It was lovely up there, but very crowded as it was a special religious day so many of the locals had come to visit. I had a good snooze on the way back to the ship. Seeing the ship all lit up as we drove back into the port was amazing. More yummy food for tea, then we had an early bed as Nagasaki is an early port.
